ABOUT

Our Project

Pioneering student project led by the University of Glasgow's female engineers and the University of Nairobi working to encourage more women into STEM.

We are a team of 9 female engineering students from the University of Glasgow representing the Female Engineering Society  'FemEng' in an international STEM outreach collaboration with the University of Nairobi. Our project consists of a 3/4 week trip to Kenya in June 2022. We will be delivering a range of skill based workshops to public schools in the local community to encourage more women to pursue a career in a STEM field.

We will be collaborating with the University of Nairobi. The team consists of 10 engineering students from the University of Nairobi and 9 from the University of Glasgow working together to deliver the workshops.

In collaboration with the University of Nairobi, the aim is to encourage more women into STEM, and support the creation of a ‘FemEng’ society in Kenya so that they themselves can deliver the workshops to a wider audience, and even to native children, something that cannot be done by the University of Glasgow team alone due to the language barrier.

The Partnership

FemEng gets involved in international projects, working to help inspire people around the world to get involved in STEM subjects. Find out more about some of the fantastic projects which FemEng has worked on and the impact they have had.
