Day 3 - Workshop Prep

We started our day by going to a supermarket to restock our fridge for the next few days and try some more local fruit. We’re slowly starting to get to know the area around our apartment, but it still takes us way too long to get the courage to cross busy streets as locals do. Luckily, when we become looking too desperate, some cars even stop for us to cross.

After having a big breakfast, we met with the girls from UoN at the School of Engineering and spent the afternoon planning our first school visit on Monday. Unfortunately, given that we only have a short time slot with the children on this occasion, we had to choose only a few of our workshops to do with them. We decided to give them the opportunity to experience aeronautical, civil and electrical engineering.

The local girls were so kind to show us one of the main streets in the city centre, which to our surprise was not as busy as we expected. We had a bit more opportunity to get to know our engineering counterparts and I am very sure they have never had anyone asking so many questions about their culture. They are taking amazing care of us and we cannot wait to visit the traditional Masai markets with them tomorrow.

The evening was dedicated to chilling in our apartment, cooking and planning for the following days.
